To Believe or Not to Believe: How Claimant Age and Perpetrator Status Affect White People’s Perceptions of Discrimination Claims

Virtual

Oral · Social Psychology

We examined how participants assessed discrimination claims depending on the age of the claimant and role of the perpetrator. We found that children who claim to have experienced discrimination are seen more positively than adults, and that children were more likely to be believed when the perpetrator was a peer.
