Edge Detection in Flickering Stimulus Is Modulated By Eccentricity and Eye Movements

Virtual

Oral · Sensation and Perception

When abutted black and white patches flicker alternating their polarity, the edge dividing patches is detectable at a frequency way above the flicker fusion threshold (Davis, 2015). We examined effects of eccentricity and eye-movements on the edge detection threshold. The threshold decreased with large eccentricity and increased with frequent eye-movements.
