Loved or Feared? How Narcissism Relates to Prestige and Dominance Strategies in Teams across Time

Virtual

Oral · Industrial/Organizational Psychology

Studying project design teams across time, our results suggest that within-person fluctuations in narcissistic admiration predicted higher teammate ratings of prestige, whereas between-person differences in narcissistic rivalry predicted higher teammate ratings of dominance. We also found evidence that status conflict mediated the association between rivalry and dominance.
