Spatial Kinematics of Facial Expressions Influence Gaze and Emotion Processing
In face-to-face interaction observers are able to extract affective information from transient dynamic facial expressions. The visual mechanisms that support such flexible processing remain unclear. In two experiments, we show that observers gaze is tuned to spatial displacement and kinematics of facial expressions, with influences on typical and atypical processing.
