Parenting and Dimensions of Psychopathology in Children and Adolescents: A Sibling Analysis

In an epidemiological sample (N = 10,605) of youth ages 4-17, more negative parenting and less positive parenting were associated with higher general psychopathology and specific externalizing derived through bifactor modeling in a multilevel sibling analysis. More positive parenting was associated with more specific internalizing net of overall psychopathology.
