Touchscreen Training Increases Smoothness of Hand Movements in Autistic Children with Impaired Speech and Motor Function

Virtual

Oral · Clinical Science

30 autistic children with motor and speech impairments were randomised to treatment or control in an iPad-assisted motor skills training programme. Autistic behaviours, motor and language function improved across both conditions. Those with high receptive-expressive language differences engaged most with the intervention and improved most consistently in movement kinematics.
