The Indonesian Public’s and Professional Clinicians’ Perceptions of and Attitudes Toward Depression

Virtual

Oral · Cultural Psychology

We gathered quantitative and qualitative data via survey to examine the Indonesian general public’s and clinicians’ (N=156) perceptions of depression. Results indicate participants tended to be unconfident regarding depression management and to prefer non-professional sources of treatment. Qualitative data suggest that religious beliefs influence views of depression and treatment.
