Contextualizing Self-Discrepancies to Reduce Aggressive Behavior Among Vulnerable Narcissists

The current work highlights the effectiveness of contextualized self-reflection to reduce aggression among people high in narcissism. Individuals high in vulnerable (vs. grandiose) narcissism exhibit less aggression (hot sauce allocation) when primed to feel guilt (vs. shame) and provided with mitigating (vs. neutral) information about a lab-based provocation.
