To Go with the Flow or Go Against the Tide? Global Threats and Their Influence on Norm Compliance

We found initial evidence showing that people may react to contextual threats, such as COVID-19 pandemic outbreak in a different way as compared to general lack of control over life. Experiencing high levels of threat led to rejection of descriptive ingroup norms and sticking to one's own beliefs and values.
