2021 APS Virtual Convention
On the Emergence of Inter-Brain Synchrony
Brains that work together, couple together through inter-brain synchrony (IBS). How does IBS emerge? Here we thoroughly integrate simultaneous behavioral and electrocortical recordings from dyads of participants who interacted spontaneously while looking at each other. We identified multiple non-verbal behaviors driving distinct kinds of frequency- and spatial-specific IBS.
