Unpacking Emotion Flexibility and Psychological Adjustment: Testing a Cognitive-Emotional Resource Framework

Virtual

Oral · Personality/Emotion Psychology

Emotion Flexibility (EF) is associated with adjustment to stress. Theories of emotion-regulation suggest an interplay of underlying dimensions: cognitive-control and emotional reactivity. We tested these dimensions in EF during the stressful transition to college. Results support the dimensions in driving EF, but findings are more complex for longitudinal adjustment.
