The Role of Trauma-Related Growth Processes in Adolescents’ Functioning during the COVID-19 Pandemic

Virtual

Oral · Developmental Psychology

The shift from deficit to adaptive models of trauma responses warrants better understanding of growth processes in response to trauma. We examined whether stress predicted Post-Traumatic Growth (PTG) and in turn whether PTG predicted future psychopathology among adolescents. Stress quadratically predicted PTG and PTG predicted internalizing but not externalizing symptoms.
