Concerns for Others Increase the Likelihood of Vaccination More in Sparsely Rather Than Densely Populated Areas

Virtual

Oral · Social Psychology

We examined how people’s concerns for infecting others if they are not vaccinated themselves motivate vaccination across areas that vary in social density. One nationally representative survey and two controlled experiments showed that concerns for others yields higher vaccination rates in sparser (vs. denser) environments.
