Controlling Unwanted Behavior: Reducing Face Touching during the Pandemic

Virtual

Oral · Social Psychology

In an online study, we tested whether implementation intentions can reduce face touching. We obtained video recordings of 156 adults. Participants formed the goal to avoid face touching; some formed additional implementation intentions, targeting the frequency or duration of touches. We observed mixed results regarding frequency and duration.
