Negativity Spreads More Than Positivity on Twitter after Both Positive and Negative Political Situations
We examined the spread of emotions on Twitter in response to positive and negative political events finding that content using negative language spreads further. Analysis of the negative language content in the positive contexts suggests that it is created by members of the celebrating group demonstrating dominance over their opponents.
