Reading and Writing in a Diglossic Context: A Multifaceted Perspective

globalization of English-based technology, with the absence of Arabic supporting keyboards, forced Arab youth to reliance on Latin script representing Spoken Arabic ‘Arabizi’ when communicating through computers. Writing practices, attitudes, literacy skills were examined both in MSA and Arabizi. Findings indicated that MSA is highly valued, existing alongside with Arabizi.
