Holistic Processing of Words and Faces Predicts Reading Scores in Dyslexic but Not in Typical Readers

Virtual

Oral · Cognitive Psychology

We demonstrate that holistic processing of faces and words, measured using the Vanderbilt Holistic Face Processing Task and the Holistic Word Processing Task, is associated with faster, more accurate reading in dyslexic but not in typical readers. These findings are used to guide conceptualization of the visual deficit in dyslexia.
