Theory of Mind Matters: Social Outcomes of Individual Differences in Theory of Mind

This study demonstrates how individual differences in decoding and reasoning about others’ mental states (“theory of mind”) manifests in social interactions. During a cooperative task between two strangers, theory of mind predicted the presence of social behaviours. Further, target’s behaviours predicted how positively strangers felt about themselves and the target.
