Mapping the Functioning of Three Motivational Systems in the Intimate Relationships of Greek Adults: Sex Drive, Passionate and Companionate Love

We examined whether three systems regulating intimate relationships, Sex Drive, Passionate and Companionate Love differentiated intimate relationships (N=631, Greek adults). The basic difference among relationship clusters was associated with Sex Drive. Passionate and Companionate Love also discriminated among relationships but while covarying. Does this imply that “love is really sex”?
