Tolerating Unfairness: Relative Gain and Social Value Orientation Influence Choice in a Three-Player Ultimatum Game

Virtual

Oral · Experimental Psychology

We sought to rigorously quantify unfair offer acceptance in a 3-player ultimatum game and to specify such behavior using social value orientation. Results show that accepting unfair offers is robustly predicted by personal gain and concern for others, with the latter conditional on personal gain and social value orientation.
