The Costs and Benefits of Bystander Behavior during Elementary School

Virtual

Oral · Developmental Psychology

The current study examined the longitudinal outcomes of bystander behavior during elementary school. Findings revealed that students who join in with bullies may exhibit poorer social and behavioral outcomes over time. In contrast, providing assistance to victims was linked to a number of positive outcomes, especially among younger children.
