Social Traits Moderate Associations between Social Contact and Well-Being: A Longitudinal Study during COVID-19 Contact Restrictions
During nation-wide contact restrictions, we examined longitudinally how social traits moderated changes in personal and indirect social contact and well-being. Results showed that affiliation motive, need to be alone, and social anxiety moderated the resumption of personal contact as restrictions were loosened, and changes in well-being associated with increased contact.
