We-Talk Among Romantic Partners As a Protective Factor Against Depression: An Actor-Partner Interdependence Model
We-talk has been linked to greater marital satisfaction and psychological functioning. This longitudinal study examined whether we-talk is associated with lower levels of depressive symptoms among couples. Results indicated that a spouse’s use of we-talk is associated with lower levels of their own depressive symptoms over a 36-month period.
