We like It ‘Cause You Take It: Indirect Effects of Approach/Avoidance on Observers
Three experiments explore effects of vicarious approach/avoidance behaviors. They show that learning that fictitious characters approached/avoided previously unknown products caused ascribing them a preference for the approached objects, even when the behavior was guided by a third party, and developing explicit and implicit preferences toward these objects.
