The Role of Positive Relational Events in Partner-Specific Attachment Avoidance Via Positive Affect

In a study employing a laboratory session and three monthly assessments, positive affect after discussing a positive relationship event predicted lower romantic attachment avoidance in fledgling couples. In subsequent diary studies, daily positive relationship events predicted decreases in attachment avoidance via increases in positive affect in fledgling couples and newlyweds.
