Is the Device Always Right?: Children’s Trust in and Learning from a Novel Voice-Assistant

This study examines 4-5- and 7–8-year-old’s beliefs about a novel voice-assistant’s accuracy and characteristics. Younger children trusted the voice-assistant to provide personal information about the researcher and attributed more human-like characteristics to it than older children, who trusted the voice-assistant for information about science and culture.
