Blunted Neural Response to Errors Prospectively Predicts Increased Symptoms of Depression during the COVID-19 Pandemic

Virtual

Oral · Clinical Science

Blunted neural response to errors before the COVID-19 pandemic, a chronic stressor, prospectively predicts greater depression symptoms across the first several months of the pandemic, even when controlling for baseline depression symptoms. Together these results suggest that blunted neural response to errors enhances risk for depression symptoms under stressful conditions.
