Development of a Self-Report Measure to Capture Learner’s Mental Effort and Perceived Task Difficulty
Across three samples of participants (N=418), we (1) examined psychometric properties of a new self-report measure of mental effort and task difficulty (consisting of intrinsic and extraneous load) in a task-specific and task-general context; and (2) revised and shorten the scale while ensuring good measurement properties.
