The Effect of Aging on Working Memory: Longer Execution Times, Increased Interference and More Serial Processing

Virtual

Oral · Cognitive Psychology

We applied a theory-based hierarchical Bayesian model to data from a memory updating task to investigate the influence of aging on working memory. Older adults exhibit longer execution times, have an increased level of interference between memorized items, and might have a decreased ability to process items in parallel.
