Spatial Navigation Performance: When Older Adults Are As Good As Young Adults

Virtual

Oral · Cognitive Psychology

A recent review classified spatial navigation performance in terms of knowing landmarks, paths (route and survey modes), and locations (egocentric and allocentric). We newly tested these types of performance in young, middle-aged and older people. Age-related differences only emerged for allocentric location knowledge, so all is not lost with aging.
