Accuracy and Social Incentives Shape Belief in (Mis)Information

Are people better able to discern between true and false news if you pay them to be accurate? Across two experiments (n = 1450), we found that financial incentives for accuracy improved truth discernment and decreased political bias in perceptions of true and false political news.
