Childhood Air Pollution Exposure Elevates Risk of Psychopathology at the Transition to Adulthood

Virtual

Oral · Biological Psychology

Air pollution is globally ubiquitous toxicant-mix that may injure the central nervous system. Associations with psychopathology are poorly characterized. In a representative longitudinal birth cohort followed to age 18-years, we find that early life air-pollution-exposure elevates risk of general psychopathology regardless of individual, family, and neighborhood psychiatric and sociodemographic factors.
