The Role of Frontal Polar Cortex in Patch Selection

Virtual

Oral · Neuroscience

Important choices often involve selection between patches, which are collections of many items. We showed that a convolutional neural network (CNN) can account for 91% of participants’ patch choices. We showed that the frontal polar cortex involved a mechanism similar to the CNN and is critical to patch selection.
