Emotion Prevails over Sex in Implicit Judgments of Faces and Voices

Effects of task-relevant and -irrelevant judgments about the emotion and sex of faces were investigat-ed in both the visual and auditory dimensions. Larger task-irrelevant effects were found for emotion, suggesting it is processed outside of the focus of attention in both sensory modalities.
