Subjective Uncertainty and the Belief-Behavior Link for COVID-19 Countermeasure Compliance
The present research investigates the role of mortality salience in eliciting uncertainty and how belief in free will can influence behavior aimed to resolve the experienced uncertainty. We demonstrate that free will beliefs predict perceptions of COVID-19 threat and endorsement of different countermeasures contingent on the perceived variant of uncertainty.
