Does Belief in Free Will Influence Biological Motion Perception?

Virtual

Oral · Social Psychology

In two experiments, we found that two beliefs related to free will, namely determinism and dualism, were associated with the perception of biological motion. A combined analysis across Experiments 1 and 2 showed that dualism negatively predicted perceptual sensitivity and that increased determinism predicted a lower detection threshold.
