No Evidence That Working Memory Training Alters White Matter Microstructure

Virtual

Oral · Cognitive Psychology

Twenty-five healthy adults underwent neuroimaging before and after computerized working memory training. Age-matched controls (n = 24) received computerized processing speed training. At post-training, the participants’ scores on the trained tasks significantly improved. However, the training did not enhance cognitive outcome scores and did not alter white matter microstructure.
