Physicians’ Susceptibility to Advice from Clinical Decision Support Systems

Physicians received x-rays and diagnostic advice labeled as coming from either an AI or a human. They were asked to evaluate the advice quality and make diagnoses. Task experts rated advice from the AI as lower quality. Diagnostic accuracy was worse when physicians received inaccurate advice, regardless of the source.
