Abstract
We predicted social participation, positive relations with others, loneliness, and well-being from five Smartphone measures, controlling for extraversion. Several aspects of smartphone use were positively related to social interaction. This suggests our college sample uses phones to support and enhance social interaction, and not to take the place of it.
