Abstract
Children were assessed on Number-knower status, rote counting, ascending/descending counts, 1-1 mapping, orthogonal mapping and hidden quantities. NK status was not predicted by age, few children showed NK = 3, and NK did not predict rote counting. These data suggest complex and separable relations between factors leading to numerical cognition.
