Abstract
This study investigates opposing narratives linking cognitive load to eating behavior. Two studies examined the extent to which cognitive load and food health influence food processing and preferences. Study 1 suggests that cognitive load matters for food choice, but only for restrained eaters. Study 2 did not replicate this effect.
