Abstract
Reducing Academic Self-Handicapping using Self-Persuasion was attempted in this study using an Aronson method of Self-Persuasion gathered from cognitive dissonance theory. 59 participants were included in the study. A control condition prompted participants to lie to confederate that they “do not self-handicap,” given $4 to lie.
