Abstract
Family of origin income predicted whether community college students (n=2120) earned any sort of degree over a 17 year period after controlling for the effects of academic preparation and academic success. Even academically successful under-resourced students were relatively unlikely to attend college consistently and relatively unlikely to earn degrees.
