Abstract
Affective disorders are typically associated with low emotional intelligence (EI) and maladaptive emotion regulation strategies. EI and rumination and reflection strategies were tested among individuals with and without affective disorders. High EI predicted high reflection among all individuals and predicted low rumination only among individuals with affective disorders.
