Abstract

Research has shown that virtual reality (VR) leads to higher levels of emotional empathy. This study examined whether perceptions of self-efficacy underlies these associations. In a study of 102 participants, greater levels of perceived self-efficacy corresponded with higher levels of empathy following an emotionally stimulating VR experience.
