Abstract
This study explores receptivity to mental health-related Instagram posts attributed to individuals of varying fame levels. Posts by ostensible peers were more compelling than those by social media influencers, a pattern that emerged more strongly for those more likely than not to wishfully identify with favorite celebrities.
