Abstract
This study explores the relationships among underrepresented STEM students’ academic competence beliefs, perceptions of competence beliefs held by professors and peers, and their academic and psychosocial well-being during their first two years in college. Results suggest that a fixed mindset relates to psychosocial stress and lower academic confidence over time.
