Abstract
Our study explores how Muslim American adolescents become civically engaged and religious-based out-of-school activities foster civic engagement. Using the social network and regression analysis, we found structural differences between the two types of social networks (friendship vs. politically-minded others) and identified discrimination and degree centrality as predictors of civic engagement.
