Perceptions of Workplace Feedback: A Preference for Feedback Containing Constructive Suggestions for Improvement

Abstract
This study sought to examine what factors influence participant perceptions of work-related feedback. We found that when asked to rate hypothetical feedback scenarios, participants rated constructive feedback as more useful (M = 4.63, SD = 0.68) compared to basic feedback (M = 3.83, SD = 1.08).
