Abstract
A sample of university students predicted the intensity of emotions they could experience, either for a real upcoming alcohol use experience, or an imagined experience. Participants’ past drinking experiences affected their emotional expectancies, but only for the imagined experience. These results will be interpreted in the context of dual-processing theory.
